A design style personality is a reflection of your unique tastes, preferences, and the emotional vibe translated into a space. We must be intentional with our Inner Design Through Interior Design because if 90% of our time is spend inside, why not make the spaces we experience a reflection of our healthy inner-self? It’s the blend of aesthetics, colors, textures, and influences that feels most authentic to you. Just like personal style in fashion, your design personality shapes how you curate and express yourself through interiors – whether that’s bold and dramatic, calm and minimalist, or eclectic and full of character.
It’s more than just picking out furniture or color palettes; it’s about creating spaces that reflect your values, experiences, and inspirations.
I see space as a playground of color, light, form and shelter. Step into my world of clean mid-century modern vibes with a dash of vintage glam. Where bold colors meet statement art, and uplifting words come together to create spaces that feel as good as they look. I’m all about blending iconic styles to craft something unique and livable. – Pamela W.
Vintage Glam Meets Mid-Century Modern
There’s something magical about bringing vintage glam into the sleek lines of mid-century modern design. Whenever I think if vintage, the Roaring 20's and grandiose Art Deco style immediately come to mind. Naturally, the edginess of both styles can work together to create a chic haven of plush velvet sofas cozied up next to crisp, geometric coffee tables. Then add in some brass touches and a connection to nature through materials or views. The result? A space that feels polished and sophisticated with a soft nod to the past and wellness benefits. It’s the best of both worlds—classic, yet totally fresh. Whenever I'm feeling extra bold, I love to weave in a little touch of 18th-century French Baroque – a true showstopper that brings in timeless, jaw-dropping craftsmanship.
Let the Art Do the Talking
I’ll admit it—I'm an art lover through and through. If there’s a striking painting or a quirky photograph to be found, I’m probably already imagining where it could hang. Art injects so much personality into a room. It can set the tone, tell a story, or just make you stop and stare for a second. Whether it's an abstract piece bursting with color or a vintage black-and-white print, surrounding yourself with art that speaks to you can transform any space into something that feels deeply personal.
Bring on the Bold (Contrast is Key)
When it comes to color, I'm a firm believer in the power of bold, moody hues to create drama and depth in a space. Think rich jewel tones like emerald green, sapphire blue, and deep burgundy paired with luxurious metallic accents. These colors add warmth and personality to a room, creating a sense of intimacy and sophistication. Don't be afraid to embrace dark colors—they can make a bold statement and add a touch of glamour to any space.
A Little Encouragement, All Throughout
Words have this quiet power to lift us up and keep us going. I’m a big fan of weaving them into design—whether it’s a framed quote, a hand-painted mural, or even throw pillows embroidered with affirmations. It’s these small, intentional touches that can make your space feel supportive and inspiring, like your own personal cheerleader (in decor form). Fill your home with words that mean something to you, and let them serve as gentle reminders of your strength, resilience, and dreams.
Sunlight + Nature = Design Magic
Natural light is everything. It brightens up a space, literally and figuratively, and just makes you feel good. I’m all about maximizing daylight—big windows, glass doors, and skylights whenever possible. But even if you’re working with a darker space, you can still bring the outdoors in with plants, botanical prints, or nature-inspired textures and colors. These little touches help soften a room and make it feel more expansive. When in doubt, add a plant (or three).
Mixing mid-century modern with vintage glam isn’t just about style for me. I am truly affected by how elements of these styles are placed throughout the environments I experience. It's important for you to have healthy, functional spaces to live in so what's your favorite design style? What really moves you or enhances your daily peace? It’s about creating spaces that feel like you. By playing with bold colors, layering in meaningful art, adding words of encouragement, and letting nature do its thing, you can shape a home that’s inspiring, comforting, and full of personality.
