Believe in the power of persistence! 🌟 When I started design school and saw the myriad of talented art students, I wondered if I was going to make it out of my foundation classes 😂.

I stressed over every art class (a big total of 2 to be exact), wondering if my work was “good enough”. But guess what? Practice truly breeds mastery and my 🙏🏽 prayers for more time between work and school to refine my pieces made all the difference.

I spent countless hours in my cubicle and sleepless nights at home to get to my point of “ohhkay, this is good👍🏽”. While I never aimed to become the best artist out there, the skills I’ve honed help me translate the interior design visions in my mind into reality for my clients… which makes the process that much easier.

In our pursuit of convenience and affordability, we often ignore the hidden impacts🤔. Sure, a bargain on stylish furniture and decor from giants like Target or Amazon (Lord knows I LOVE both💖) is very attractive, but behind those discounts lie implications that extend beyond our aesthetics.

Long gone are the days of collecting statement pieces over time and keeping them, well, forever. In this age of fast consumption, home decor is often seen as a disposable commodity rather than a lifetime investment. While this offers initial affordability, the environmental 🌍 and health 🩻 consequences are significant. From sourcing materials to manufacturing, transportation, and disposal, every step of cheap furniture’s lifecycle leaves a mark.

It’s definitely one of my love/hate relationships because I believe everyone should have access to a stylish, comfortable and functional 🏠💕. My question is how can we do it without tearing up our health and ecosystem!?🤷🏽‍♀️
